Customs Services
Import Clearance
Licensed brokers prepare and lodge import entries via JITAI. Tariff classification, duty calculation, FTA eligibility, and release coordination. Pre-lodgement as standard.
Export Clearance
Export entries, packing declarations, certificates of origin (NZTE/NZCCI), and shipper letters of instruction. MPI export certificates coordinated in-house.
FTA Duty Optimisation
ChAFTA, AANZFTA, CPTPP, NZAFTA, NZ-UK FTA. We assess every shipment for preferential duty eligibility. Many importers overpay because they are not claiming the right rate.
MPI Biosecurity
Import Health Standard review, MPI inspection booking at our Drury facility, treatment coordination (fumigation, heat treatment, cleaning), and clearance management.

Customs FAQs
What is a licensed customs broker and why do I need one?
A licensed customs broker is authorised by NZ Customs to prepare and lodge import and export entries. For commercial goods above NZD $1,000, a formal customs entry is legally required. Our brokers hold current NZCS practising certificates.
How do FTA duty savings work?
FTAs allow goods meeting rules of origin to enter NZ at reduced or zero duty. To claim the FTA rate, you need a qualifying Certificate of Origin from the exporter. Our brokers check FTA eligibility on every shipment.
What is tariff classification and why does it matter?
Every product has a tariff code in the NZ Working Tariff that determines duty rates and import restrictions. Incorrect classification creates duty liability or overpayment. We classify goods correctly as standard practice.
